October & November 2002
We spent a couple months "back home" in Kansas City to visit family. We still had a lot of work to do too (as usual), so
even the visiting was somewhat limited. We had also hoped to do more sightseeing, but only managed to get to the
Truman Library in Independence. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos due to flash photography restrictions and
rather dark rooms.
December 2002 to April 2003
We went straight from Kansas City to our winter spot in Mesa without any sightseeing. We did stop for a couple
days here and there to visit a few friends along the way, but that's about it.
We had another nice winter in Arizona. It rained more than last year -- this year it rained about 4 times in the 4 months here!
Connie did her usual things -- yoga class, Aqua-Belles (swimming in the morning), and Songbirds (women's chorus). She even
joined the annual parade as part of Songbirds, singing "Over the Rainbow". (See below for more parade photos.)

I did the usual things too -- work, work and work! OK, I did get outside one day (to work).
(Hey, I had to break in the table we bought 2 years ago and see if the lawn chairs still worked!)
I didn't even get to the lapidary shop this year. Oh well, a few more
deadlines and then maybe I can relax.
We did take time to watch a couple shows at the resort -- Mexican dancers, and a wild west show re-enacting the gunfight at the O-K Corral (and they had
a real white bull that Connie posed on).
Here are some more photos of the parade:
Sorry we don't have anything more interesting for you this time.
After a couple business stops in Yuma and Lake Havasu, we're headed up north for the summer.
Hopefully we'll get some more interesting photos this summer.
That's all for now!
